Recently, we spent a weekend on Hilton Head Island and truly enjoyed the local hospitality. The funny thing is that we live less than two hours away, and neither of us had ever visited. Needless to say, it won’t be our last visit. While visiting, we enjoyed our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, which had an outstanding staff and an excellent location. We arrived earlier than check-in time and were invited to enjoy the rooftop bar and pool area while we waited for our room to be prepared. The views were beautiful, as we looked out at the ocean and at a lovely park where a festival was taking place. After settling into our room, we enjoyed a five-minute walk to the beach. The beach was clean and very active even in the early evening. After enjoying a walk on the beach, we made our way back to The SandBar restaurant and bar. We ate outside on the patio and enjoyed live music while we ate. It was very busy, but worth the wait. We thoroughly enjoyed the festive atmosphere, and the food was great! Our Courtyard room was very comfortable, and we enjoyed a very nice night’s sleep. The next morning, we enjoyed a little homestyle breakfast at the Plantation Cafe. Our visit to Hilton Head was so enjoyable. There are things to note. The traffic coming onto the island can be a little much, but once you’re there, you can get around the island on bike, walking, or the local trolly system.
